GCSE Results Day

Students at Dinnington High School have been waiting anxiously over the summer for their GCSE results.  With the wait finally over, students are now celebrating the excellent results they have received.

Dinnington High School's GCSE results 2016 are as follows:

  • Students achieving the English Baccalaureate is 64%.
  • Students achieving A*-C grades in English is 68.1%.
  • Students achieving A*-C grades in Mathematics is 60.5%.
  • Students achieving A*-C grades in both English and Mathematics is 52%.
  • In 2016, 1 in every 6 Year 11 students achieved 3 or more A*/A.

Students and staff at the school feel extremely proud of the hard work that has been put in to achieving these fantastic results following on from the A level success last week.

One of the top scoring students is Courtney Briggs who has achieved a wonderful 9 A*/A grades. Other top scoring students include Ellie Stones with 8 A*/A grades, Charlotte Hopwood, Heather Porter and Ellie Walker who all achieved 7 A*/A grades. Other students who will be celebrating are Kyle and Ellie Cotton (twins) who both achieved 6 A*/A grades as well as Sam Andrew, Caitlin Barton, Matthew Goold and Lauren Hinchcliffe who also achieved 6 A*/A grades. (Pictures Below)

All the hard work has paid off for the students, with expected record numbers of students progressing to A Levels at Dinnington High School, whilst others will be moving onto college and onto apprenticeships.  Whatever direction they go in, students will be leaving Dinnington High School having enjoyed the past 5 years at the school.

With strong GCSE results, an increasing number of students are choosing Dinnington High School as a place to continue their education. A high number of students have signed up to study with us in our sixth form this September but it's still not too late to join us. Our Post 16 open afternoon is on Thursday 22nd September from 3pm to 5pm providing an opportunity to explore the A level and Vocational courses on offer.
